Spudman Triathlon 2009...Craziness!!!!

So I decided to try my first olympic size triathlon this weekend. I participated in the Burley Idaho Spudman which is a 1 mile swim in the Snake River, around 24.5 mile bike, then you run 6.2 miles. All I can say is I finished. My muscles gave me some trouble in the run....but I finished!!!!Morning of... with my little fans ready to cheer me on. I love you guys and thank you for always supporting me!!!
My sister and I do a lot of these crazy things together and I'm so glad to have her there.

Believe me....we're out there somewhere.

Summer Fun at MDA Camp

So I'm finally getting pictures up from this years MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Assoc.) camp. This was Bryson's 5th year and Rylie's 2nd. MDA camp is something the kids count down to every year starting from the day they get home the year before. It's hard to explain how awesome this camp is for my kids. I guess the best way to describe it would be from Bryson's own words when we pulled into the parking lot his first year of camp. I tried to explain to him prior to camp how the kids would be like him and their abilities would be very similar...etc. I don't think he really ever understood what I meant until we pulled into the parking lot of the Airport Hilton 5 years ago. I remember looking back and seeing this huge smile and these big blue eyes looking back at me as he said "MOM!!!!.... LOOK !!!!.......all the kids are in wheelchairs just like me!" To me that says it all!

Bryson and Rylie each go with their own volunteer. This year Grandpa Robert went with Bryson and Grandma Carolyn went with Rylie. They are gone for 5 days and play until they drop, (literally). Both have made forever friendships that they cherish. I know how much these kids genuinely care for each other. These friendships are more like special bond unlike anything else!!!

They had another great year at camp thanks to all the wonderful volunteers and staff who sacrifice their own time so my kids and others can have 5 full days of magic!!!
